Levil Aviation

About Us

Levil Technology/Aviation is a family-owned, Central Florida-based company established in 1999 dedicated to the design and manufacture of desktop CNC Milling Machines and Aviation instrumentation.

Ruben D. Leon, founder and president of Levil, has dedicated most of his life to creating innovative solutions within the automation world and the aerospace community. After his first successful homebuilt project, a Varieze, Ruben and his brother built the first experimental Twin-Cozy, using two Suzuki engines with counter-rotating propellers, to cross about 1500 miles from Venezuela to Airventure, Oshkosh in 1998. Weight was an issue when so many “steam” gauges were needed to safely monitor both engines in such a small plane, leading to the search for an affordable and reliable glass cockpit for the Twin-Cozy. After constant disappointment, Ruben decided to design an all-in-one custom AHRS-EMS system that would enable him to have control over calibration, broader probe’s compatibility, and instrument versatility.

Levil Aviation emerged after the growing interest of third-party aviation companies. We now manufacture the finest stand-alone AHRS in the market for a number of companies. The passion to create innovative products is what drives us and the ability to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices with guaranteed customer satisfaction is what stands us apart. Levil Aviation developed the first iPad-compatible AHRS for General Aviation. It is now opening the doors to the experimental and light-sport communities with the iLevil Series and to the certified market with the recent NORSEE certification of the BOM and the iLevil 3 AW. We are proud to bring innovative and reliable technology every day and continue offering outstanding customer service around the world.

Meet Our Geeks

Ruben Leon

I have been an aviation enthusiast ever since I can remember. It all started with RC airplanes, then transitioned into home-builds. My first airplane was a Varieze. Then I built the Twin-engine Cozy and now I fly the RV9 for fun. The truth is I designed the avionics for my own airplane and it is exciting to share the technology with other pilots. The best reward for me is to work alongside my family and have fun together while building something fun.

I recently graduated with my bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida. I started with the Levil team as a circuit board technician. With my hunger for knowledge, I consider myself a forever student, eager to learn about evolving technology. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking and swimming.

I became part of the Levil Technology/Aviation family in 2017. I graduated from Lincoln College with a bachelor’s degree in restaurant management and hospitality. The greatest thing about working at Levil is not only the fact that I get to work with amazing people but also the fact that I always get to meet new people every day. I enjoy cooking, traveling, and most importantly, flying.
